Our Mission

TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. TO INSPIRE OTHERS. TO CREATE. TO PRESERVE.

Developing or protecting habitat for each native Pollineighbor and creating a buzz about our larger Pollineighborhood community through engagement, discovery and education is at the heart of what we do. Any space can contribute to being a part of the Pollineighborhood.  Large or small.  Backyard or balcony. Highway median or abandoned lot. All you need to do is be energized about being a great Pollineighbor! Let’s go for it!

About us

Tori Hiney

Tori Hiney is the sole proprietor and Native Habitat Design Specialist behind Bee the Buzz. She brings over a decade of experience managing complex urban landscapes, including more than 11 years with the Rose Kennedy Greenway in downtown Boston, where she served as Ecology and Horticulture Supervisor.

Tori holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Horticulture and Sustainable Design from the University of Maine, Orono. Her professional credentials include Massachusetts Certified Horticulturist (MCH) through MNLA, Accredited Organic Land Care Professional (AOLCP) and Organic Lawn Care Accredited Professional (OLCAP) through NOFA, and Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer (HE-191807) through the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety.

Deeply passionate about environmental stewardship, Tori believes meaningful change begins at the local level; rooted in compassion, education, and a commitment to giving a voice to those who are often overlooked in our landscapes, from native plants to pollinators and soil life.

While Bee the Buzz is a sole-proprietor business, Tori regularly collaborates with a trusted network of horticulture specialists, arborists, and ecological professionals to support projects as needed, ensuring thoughtful, resilient, and site-specific outcomes for every client.

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.
